We're headed back to Disney!

Memories of our epic 2023 Disney vacation are beginning to pop up in our photo apps. Of course the response is to begin planning our next trip!

So back to Disney we are going this October. Fall break falls perfectly between big brother’s 12th birthday and little Pixie Princess’s 2nd. Who wouldn’t want to celebrate with Mickey?

With a short amount of planning time (and short on time to generate extra spending money), this is a shorter trip than usual but it may end up being my favorite of all our trips yet. Here’s why:

1. It’s just the four of us! This trip marks the first trip with just our family of four and I’m so looking forward to it!

2. We had to be very intentional with how we selected where we spend our time. We know we wont hit EVERYTHING and that’s ok. This isn’t that trip - we’ll back. There’s a lot of pressure taken off when viewed this way.

3. This trip is focused on things we can all do together. If it can’t include all four of us then, for the most part, it’s not on the agenda. With a 10 year age gap in kid ages there’s many opportunities to say we’ll split up to allow the older one to ride the big rides while the little goes on the “baby” rides. This trip is about us enjoying and celebrating with each other and we have found plenty that meets that request.

So what is this magic agenda that will keep us all together? Well, we’re still putting the finishing touches on all the details but stay tuned for a full itinerary coming soon!

The EPIC Disney Vacation that started it all

The EPIC Disney Vacation that started it all

Oh 2022… How you changed our world.

We welcomed our daughter October 2022 and my husband’s heart melted in ways I didn’t know was possible. Yes, he was a wonderful husband and bonus dad of 9 years at that point. But nothing prepared us for the changes a little girl would bring to our family.

Never in a million years did I ever think we would be the forever Disney family. My tough, veteran, wants to be grumpy other half just didn’t fit the “Disney dad” vibe. That quickly changed once little miss came about. By her first Christmas (all of 2 months old) he was all in on Disney.

We started playing around with what our options and budget could be for a trip just six months away, when Mr Dad through another curve ball… He wanted to bring our nephew, niece, and my brother along. I was ecstatic! What an opportunity!

And so the EPIC Vacation plan unfolded. How did we plan a trip for 3 adults, four children (ages 8 months, 6 years, 8 years, and 10 years)? Keep an eye out for the follow up blog. I’ll give a run down of how we spent our days, broken down by parks. Plus - there’s another plot twist here with some added guests!
